Waste and Recycling Workers Week takes place annually the week of June 14. The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) emphasizes the importance of recognizing and appreciating solid waste and recycling workers for their valuable contributions to protect human health and the environment.
These essential workers might not have received any special media recognition but believe me when I say that Waste Haulers around the world were/are no less important than Doctors, nurses, policemen and or firemen.
They are on the front lines collecting daily trash from both the residential and commercial sectors without fail. No fanfare, No media attention, no, just doing their part to keep their communities clean and sanitary.

So, when you see a Waste Hauling truck pass you by or you see your local Waste Hauler collecting your household waste…tell em – Thank you.

Again, as the captions reads – Give it up to these heroes that no one talks about.
