Martin Luther King Jr. Day - Waste and Recycling Workers Week

Those of us at Waste and Recycling Workers Week take this time to commemorate the history of Martin Luther King Jr., and the work that he did towards creating equality in America.

We appreciate each and every one of you, and wish freedom and peace be yours.

  1. My appreciation for “garbage men” goes back to when I was a child in Louisiana. If my mother had items for the garbage can , she would carefully look to see if there was broken glass or sharp can tops that might injure the “garbage man.” She would carefully wrap them all up to protect the garbage man. Martin Luther King and his fight for equality were well respected in my childhood home. That respect continues to this day.
